2025.12.05 10AM, it's 2°F/16°C. When I woke up at 6 it was -15F/-26C. I'm not a fan of this stuff. Currently installing Midnight Commander on the new FreeBSD system, and it's taking forever. I'm not sure if most of this time is due to the differences between Raspberry Pi 3B and 3B+ or if it's more to do with differences between FreeBSD and Debian, but extracting the files is a sloooooow process. Anyway, mc is the first thing I install on any new system, so I can easily browse files without having to guess whether they exist and where they are. The next step will be to make sure ssh is set up, so I can get rid of the keyboad and monitor and access everything from my workstation. If I like this system better than the Raspberry Pi OS, I may just migrate my web and gopher servers to it, but that's an if that I'm saving for a much later day. At this time i'm just considering it a plaything and learning tool.
