2025.12.01 First day of December is gray and cold in Maine. I spent most of the day after work looking up info about writing files for Gopher and Gemini. I have yet to find a source that clearly explains the entire process. My Pibox is now running a dedicated irc client, web server, and gopher server. If/when I get going in the tildeverse, I'll most likely experiment with Gemini on their server, so I don't need to deal with certificates and setting up yet another bit of software. Getting back into the text-mostly mode has already noticeably improved my stress level. Additionally, I got some of my Windows games running in Linux again, although now I don't feel like playing them. I keep telling myself this painting could/should be finished by "the end of this month." I've been saying that since August. On the crap side, Gimp is broken. It keeps hanging at the loading screen while loading "babl fishes". UPDATE: I had just recently switched back to KDE Plasma, after using Xfce for a couple of years, and it set my desktop to use Wayland instead of X11. I switched back to X11, and Gimp loads quickly and smoothly again.
